Our visit to Sinai Academy


Last week we visited the Sinai Academy in Bloubergrant.

The Quails went to a synagogue.We met the Rabbi.The boys sat on one side and the girls sat on the other side. All the boys wore a kippah. Then we read the Torah from back to front. The Rabbi taught us how to use the rams horn and the prayer shawl. The language that they speak is called Hebrew. It was interesting to know.

We had Shabbat with the Jewish children. We ate challah bread. The children said a prayer in Hebrew. Rosh Hoshanah is one of the Jewish holidays.

Gr 4 Camp

Last week we were at camp. We went to Simonsberg. First we went to Giraffe House to see the snakes, spiders, pythons, tarantulas, giraffes, llamas, ostriches and zebras. After that we went to the Campsite.We went swimming and night-hiking. The activities we did was the Obstacle-course, blind-fold, the mud-pit, building forts in the forest, bon-fire, team-building and Elkanah's got talent. The meals were delicous! I shared my dormitory with Nicole and Yiling. It was VERY fun. On Friday (the day we were coming back from camp) before we came back we ate ice-cream. When we all finished our ice-cream, we all hopped on the bus and drove back to school. When we got there we were all very tired. (I think our parents missed us). But I think I enjoyed it.
